In order to enjoy the full aroma of the coffee we recommend grinding the coffee beans immediately before making the coffee, to avoid letting the aromas evaporate. For one cup of coffee, you should brew 7-8 g ground coffee with 180ml cold, pure water. Use soft or filtered water to avoid a bitter taste. Hard tap water hinders the aroma nuances in unfolding. Davidoff Café is suitable for all common preparation methods, such as filter coffee machine and French press. To allow the aroma and all its nuances to fully unfold, the Davidoff Café sommelier recommends coffee to be brewed using a manual porcelain coffee filter. These brewing methods allow the flavours to develop best, which a discerning coffee connoisseur will appreciate. Coffee is a sensitive product. Oxygen and moisture from surrounding air can quickly have a negative effect on the aroma. This process starts as soon as the protective aroma packaging is opened. Ground coffee experiences a negative effect when it is exposed to normal room temperature for more than 7 days. This process can be significantly prolonged by storing coffee in the refrigerator. It is therefore recommended to put ground coffee in an airtight glass or metal container and to keep it in the refrigerator until it is used up. If only small quantities are used and coffee is stored for some time, we recommend storing it in a freezer. Frozen coffee will remain fresh for a longer period of time. Coffee beans ideally should be stored in an airtight, light-insensitive container, as air and light are coffee’s worst enemies.
