DAVIDOFF XO is the expression of patient cellar craft. Distilled in France and aged well beyond the XO minimum, the eaux-de-vie selected for this blend develop a character that only time can produce: a deep amber robe with hints of mahogany, a nose built on floral undertones, ripe fruitiness, warm honey and quiet whispers of clove and liquorice. On the palate, the cognac is perfectly round and superbly balanced, revealing peaches and nectarines alongside gentle wood and walnut. The finish is long, composed and memorable. Best appreciated neat, at room temperature, in a tulip glass that lets each layer emerge without rushing.
XO cognac begins as wine, distilled into eaux-de-vie and then transferred to French oak barrels where time does its work. The cellar master selects and blends eaux-de-vie from different ages and growing areas, building complexity and balance over years of patient maturation. For the XO category, the youngest component in the blend must have aged for a minimum of ten years, which is why the result carries a depth and roundness that younger grades cannot offer.
XO stands for Extra Old, a designation that reflects both extended aging and a richer, more layered profile. Since April 2018, the XO category requires the youngest eau-de-vie in any blend to be at least ten years old. DAVIDOFF XO embodies this standard with a composition that reveals its full character slowly: floral and honeyed on the nose, perfectly balanced and round on the palate, with a finish that lingers with warmth and quiet distinction.
For those who appreciate depth and the pleasure of slow, considered tasting, XO cognac offers an experience that younger grades cannot replicate. The extended aging brings a smoothness of texture and a complexity of aromas, from dried fruits and warm spice to honey and oak, that unfold gradually in the glass. DAVIDOFF XO is best enjoyed neat, without distraction, as a moment of quiet indulgence rather than a casual pour.
