Leather

No material compares to leather. This natural material is a perfect match for strength, durability, and authenticity. Our leather goods combine premium grade calfskin with precisely crafted stitching and seam to create refined and durable products.

Your Davidoff leather item will not only resist time; it will improve with it. Designed to be your companion in every situation, it will be shaped by your personal experiences and evolve into a unique piece rich in memories and personal stories.

Please carefully read the following instructions concerning the use and maintenance of your leather item.

General care recommendations

Leather is a natural product, and thus requires care and attention over time. Small irregularities impart individuality and reflect the authenticity of the material without in any way detracting from the quality. Although deep scratches cannot be removed, all other marks can be cleaned using a damp cloth by gently applying circular movements and then polished dry to remove any excessive moisture.

We do not recommend using any product containing solvents or alcohol on the leather or other material.

For daily care, and to remove crumbs and dust, it is enough to smoothly wipe the surface of the leather with a very slightly damp genuine chamois leather or lint-free cotton cloth. We do not recommend any weekly or monthly maintenance, unless:

  • If your leather is dirty – ONLY in case of need, use a lint-free cloth to apply a suitable leather soap (natural, e.g. Marseille soap). Fully soak the cloth, wring it out and wipe the surface of the leather without applying any pressure.
  • If your leather is wet – Do not attempt to accelerate the drying process, dry it slowly at room temperature to avoid distortions of the material. If water drops are present on the surface of the leather, carefully pat them away with a lint-free cotton cloth.
  • If your leather is dry (cracked) – Please note that steady and gratuitous rehydration will destroy the leather or significantly degrade its properties. If the leather appears hard and brittle, you can treat it carefully using a high-quality colorless natural cream that is recommended for the purpose by gently applying circular movements. Always try it on a hidden part of your product first and remember to take into consideration a reaction time of one to two days.

When not in use, leather items should be stored in their original pouch. We also do not recommend overfilling leather items as this can distort the shape, strain the zips and locks or risk excessive stress on the seams. It is also advisable to avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, which could affect the texture and color of the leather.

The leather of the VENICE collection has been treated with a special wax. If accidentally rubbed the surface may get marks. These disappear immediately with light circular movements of your fingertip with a dry microfiber cloth.

Belts

All belts are handcrafted in Italy using plain or embossed Italian leather. This natural material is the perfect choice for strength, durability, and authenticity. Our leather goods combine premium grade calfskin with precisely crafted stitching and seam to create refined and durable products.

Adjust a one size belt

❶  Lift up the clasp to release the strap by using a small metal bar avoiding to scratch the metal surface.

❷  Do not cut too much.

❸  Cut off the extra strap part. Put a stitch of glue directly on the stitching on the backside of the strap.

Put the strap back in the buckle. By pushing it all the way in, carefully close the clasp firmly holding together both buckle and strap.

When you have found the right adjustment, please avoid reopening the clasp to avoid damage to the leather.

How to revert a belt

The PARIS reversible belts can be worn on both sides to be perfectly suitable for both casual and more formal looks.

❶  Pull on the buckle
❷  Turn the strap a 1/2 turn.

Bracelets

Being a handmade product, any imperfections and nuances of the leather are to be considered as a guarantee of a quality product. Given the nature of the leather, the product is not washable and may change over time. This is why it is important to:

  1. Avoid direct contact with chemicals: solvents, detergents, perfumes, cosmetics, etc. could damage the leather and metal parts
  2. Avoid contact with water, use in the pool, sea or shower.
  3. Avoid prolonged contact with heat sources.
  4. Avoid bumping the bracelet, the leather and metal parts may be damaged.
  5. We recommend keeping the bracelets in the original packaging or in a cloth bag.
  6. In case of intense sweating it is advisable not to wear the product.

Cufflinks and other accessories

Please carefully read the following instructions concerning the use and maintenance of your accessory.

Storage instructions

Davidoff accessories should be stored in a dry and clean environment, away from direct sunlight. We recommend using the box or pouch provided with your product(s) to keep them separated from other items and to prevent scratches.

Cleaning instructions

Clean your accessories by gently wiping with a soft, cotton cloth to remove any dirt and oils (from skin). In case of heavy soiling or where dirt has built up in crevices, gently rub with a lint-free cloth that has been soaked in warm soapy water. Use a dry cotton or microfiber cloth and gently rub the surface to restore the luster of your accessory.

We recommend that you handle your products with clean hands as precious plating may tarnish if repeatedly put into contact with creams, chlorine, acidic skin or aftershave. Regular polishing with a soft cotton cloth will keep your plated metals shiny.

Stones and synthetic applications

All our stones and synthetic applications can be safely cleaned by wiping with a soft cotton cloth. To keep your accessories in the best condition, please ensure they are completely dry before storing and avoid your product making sharp contact with other objects.

For ease of use and to avoid any damage to your shirt and/or cufflinks, please make sure that the bascule of the whale back closure is in its fully opened position. Once in place, turn the bascule back to the perpendicular in order to close and secure its position.

Watches

Davidoff watches are manufactured in accordance with rigorous quality criteria and are undergoing stringent checks throughout their production. We follow uncompromising technical standards that merit the highest label of the watchmaking sector: “Swiss Made”.

Each Davidoff watch bears an individual identification number.

Whenever you need to ship your watch, please pack it very carefully, insure it and enclose the stamped original purchase invoice with it.

Servicing the timepiece

Like any mechanical tool, your watch is subject to wear. Its servicing is therefore very important and is chiefly aimed at its protection against humidity and dust.

The following precautions must be taken:

  • The crown of your watch should not be adjusted in water.
  • Do not use corrosive products for cleaning your watch.
  • Carefully rinse your watch and its metal bracelet in fresh water and clean them with a soft brush and liquid soap.
  • After bathing in the sea, rinse your watch in fresh water.

Your timepiece is a quartz mechanism of great precision. If worn regularly, it will be used in extreme conditions (cold, heat, humidity, impacts, etc.). We, therefore, advise you to entrust your watch to an official agent or a watchmaker approved by Davidoff every two or three years. They will perform the appropriate checks, cleaning operations and battery exchange.
